"Labris"
The cover page I illustrated as well as a couple of articles in the new lesbian oriented "Labris" magazine that will soon be available online. Labris represents an ancient weapon - a double-sided axe. Lesbians find significant symbolism in the labris in the belief that Scythian warriors, Amazons, who lived without men, used it. Therefore, the labris represents a symbol of feminine strength, female self-sufficiency, independence, and lesbian connection.
