"Šetamo!"

Super excited to find out my work will be a part of the Ljubljana Pride's Festival exhibition: International Queer Solidarity: Images of Resilience and Hope, that will be held in June this year. I wanted to illustrate the formal ban of Belgrade pride during Europride 2022, and how everyone was encouraged to show up no matter what with the words "Šetamo". The illustration shows us queer people as fruits marching and taking down the blender ~a symbol of oppression of the fruits 🍎🍐🏳️🌈🍑🍒🍓🍇 🏳️⚧️ Also, fruits were a big part of last years pride promo material visuals and they got me thinking about the old homophobic saying "pedere u blendere"...Anyways, I think everyone who showed up last year was very brave, even to be on a random street and exist proudly that week was a high risk in my opinion!
